    Usually to make clear calls we need a fixed assigned/dedicated bandwidth so circuit switching technology(FDM,TDM) is used. Packet switching is only used only when the required bandwidth is not guaranteed like to data communications. However, IP is based on packet switching if Im not wrong. So how can something like voice, which requires timely fast delivery with quality, be transmitted over the Internet protocol? Wont certain packets follow different routes and then it should take extra time at the receiver end to reorder them? Plz clarify :)

    I'm using a dlink di-624 wireless router, and the voip is plugged into the lan port. Where in the configuration settings for the dlink can I find the serial for the voip's connection so I can tell it to do port forwarding? Spamming / abusive replies are REPORTED. I hear they're going to make it a fine to post non-answers just for points. I hope it's 50 points or more, personally. Awesome, that answered this question... care to look at my other one?
